ABOUT THE MARKET:

 

A. CIS Region:

 

The emerging markets of CIS countries display vast potential for expansion of trade and investment. The Department of Commerce has hence identified CIS as a Focus market. Special incentives have been announced under the Focus Market scheme. Exporters as per the guidelines are eligible for enhanced Market Development Assistance (MDA).

 

B. Russia:

  • Sustaining an annual average growth rate of approx. 6.4%  

  • The growth driven by investment and consumer-driven demand

  • Personal incomes have grown over 12%

  • Poverty has declined steadily in Russia and the middle class has continued to expand.

  • Trade surplus stands at around US$120bn.

  • Has opened up the market and major brands have already ensured their presence

  • Some of the major Indian banks have started operations and has made it easier for the Indians to trade with their counterpart there.

OBJECTIVE

 

The objective of the fair is to increase bilateral trade between India and Russia, promote joint ventures and investments, increase opportunities of interactions between the Russian and Indian businessmen to promote trade
