Workshop for officers of Software Technology Parks
Spelling out the objective of the two-day Workshop organized by FIEO at New Delhi on 15-16 January 2006, FIEO Director General Mr. Ajay Sahai said that the Workshop aimed at updating the officers of Software Technology Parks with Customs and Central Excise procedures, FEMA regulations, Foreign (Trade & Development) Regulation Act, Remittance procedures of Reserve Bank India and Foreign Trade Policy. "The knowledge of the latest information about government rules and regulations are essential for officers who are associated with important adjudication issues which are directly related to India’s Foreign Exchange." Said Mr. Sahai. Officers of Software Technology Parks from different states across the country attended the Workshop which was designed in consultation with experts in their respective fields. The Northern Region Chairman of FIEO, Dr R K Dhawan while addressing the Workshop said that FIEO had been assigned with the responsibly to impart training to the Officers of Software Technology Parks in India and the Workshop had been especially designed to meet the purpose. Praising the work of Software Technology Parks in recent times, he hoped that the Workshop would help the officers understand the government policy for further boosting exports from these parks. He urged the officers to judiciously adjudicate the matters concerning the units in these parks. Mr. S N Zindal, Director General, STP in his closing remarks thanked FIEO for organizing the especially designed Workshop. He urged the officers attending the Workshop to work without fear and make use of all the knowledge that they attained during the Workshop. He also emphasized that the working of STP should be professional.
