Mr. Kamal Nath inaugurates and dedicates

The Hon’ble
Minister for Commerce & Industry, Mr. Kamal Nath inaugurated FIEO’s
newly constructed
building "Niryat Bhawan" in New Delhi on 26 December last year.
The Federation which has been serving the exporting community since 1965
moved its Head Office as well as its Northern Region office into Niryat
Bhawan on this day. The Minister while addressing the gathering on the eve
of its inaugural ceremony spoke about how export helped the country earn
valuable foreign exchange by selling the surplus which was not absorbed by
the domestic economy and said that the country could achieve 10 percent
growth only if exports worked as the engine of our economic growth.
Mr. Ajay Sahai, the Director General of FIEO while welcoming the Minister quoted his remark, "For foreign tourists it is incredible India but for foreign investors and businessmen it is credible India." Describing the features of Niryat Bhawan, FIEO President Mr. O P Garg on this occasion said, "This air-conditioned multistoried complex has many conference halls of varying sizes and seating capacities that are designed to suit diverse events. Besides, the complex has an ultramodern auditorium with a seating capacity of 150 persons as well as an Exhibition-cum-Display Centre for showcasing the products of exporters." Mr. Garg commended the efforts made by FIEO office bearers, especially Past Presidents Late Mr. V P Punj, Ramu S Deora, M Rafeeque Ahmed and Navratan Samdria for helping the completion of this complex in a record time. The foundation of Niryat Bhawan was laid by the then Minister for Commerce & Industry, Mr. Arun Jaitley on 26th May 2003. According to FIEO Vice President, Mr. G. K. Gupta, the Federation is planning to add more facilities to this complex in near future like Library and Data Centre. "FIEO is also planning to bring in many other export promotion organizations under the roof of Niryat Bhawan for the convenience of exporting community," added Mr. Gupta.
