New CLA office in Delhi

offers upgraded facilities

The office of Zonal Jt. Director General of Foreign Trade (CLA) moved into Indraprastha Bhawan in from Asaf Ali Road towards the end of the year 2006. Mr. D. K. Singh

Zonal DGFT (North) claims that the new office is equipped with all the modern facilities and has been designed with a view to providing upgraded infrastructural support to the exporters. The LAN system has been modified and now an exporter can check the status of his application with the help of two computers installed at the ground floor and he needs not to wait to meet an official for the same. The DGFT website www.dgft.gov.in/dgftcla now offers a new link at www.dgft.gov.in/dgftcla, which, besides providing information on various schemes, also indicates the status of IEC and various licensing applications filed in this office. The Website in addition provides day-wise statistics of the IEC and all the licenses issued during a month. The Menu, ‘Frequently Asked Question’ is very useful to a newcomer to international trade, claims Mr. Singh.
