My Dear Fellow Exporters,
First of all, on behalf of my colleagues in the Managing Committee and myself, let me wish you and your family a Very Happy New Year and continued success in all your endeavours. I also take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all of you for electing me as the President and Mr. A Sakthivel as Vice President of the Federation along with our four dynamic Regional Chairmen.
I feel privileged to serve the Federation as President at a time when the exports are already surging ahead and I thank our outgoing President Mr. O. P. Garg and his team for providing me such a strong platform. I pledge to carry forward the dreams of our former Presidents in raising our share of global trade beyond 1%, which at present stagnates around 0.9%. I assure you that we will strive hard to raise this figure even beyond 1.5% in the near future and the Federation will make ceaseless efforts in ensuring hassle-free business environment to our fellow exporters for the same. The Federation is looking forward to the members for their suggestions to enhance our competitive strength in the world trade.
I also feel privileged to serve the Federation when it has moved into its own office. I thank our Past Presidents for blessing me with the newly built Niryat Bhawan having all modern amenities and a matchless ambience. I assure them that I would make my best efforts in making this monument of beauty a one-stop centre for the various needs of our fellow exporters. I am told that with our policy makers focusing new regions as export destinations, there is a need for a ‘data centre’ having A to Z information on emerging export markets. I will strive to build a comprehensive data centre in the premises of Niryat Bhawan to help the marketing efforts of our fellow exporters.
It was heartening to see many of our members being awarded by the Federation a few days ago for their outstanding performance and I wish more and more of our members to join the club in near future. I am sure with the continued efforts of my fellow exporters it will not be difficult to cross the export target of125 billion dollars by the end of the current financial year.

Dear Readers,
We have been trying to keep you regularly abreast with the activities undertaken by FIEO through FIEO NEWS. Attempts are also made to provide information on policy changes, market trends, and various burning issues of the export industry. We are looking for your valuable inputs on how to make FIEO NEWS more reader-friendly. We also look for your views, observations and experiences about the export-industry for publishing in FIEO NEWS. We especially request you to contribute features on export-related issue, which we shall be more than happy to publish in our bulletin with due acknowledgment.
