The Western Region office of FIEO organized a buyer-seller meet between Indian exporters and Romanian importers on March 6, 2007 in the Textile Committee’s office in Mumbai. Led by Mr. Loan Chiriacescu, Executive Manger of Braila Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Romanian importers represented sectors such as construction & installation materials, handmade carpets, home furnishings, silver objects, handmade souvenir & crystal, knitwear, fabrics, candies, tourism etc. On the other hand, Indian exporters were mainly drawn from textile & engineering sectors.
Mr. S K Saraf, FIEO’s Western Region Chairman, who is also the President of Indo-Romania Chamber of Commerce, informed that the trade between the two countries had increased from US$ 20 billion to 100 billion in the last five years. He apprised the participants of the activities of Indo-Romanian Chamber of Commerce towards boosting trade between the two sides.
