FIEO explores joint EDPs with IIFT

IIFT Director Mr. K. T. Chacko says that states have to play the lead role in boosting exports from the country under the overall policy guidelines of the central government. Meanwhile, he stresses on effective centre-state coordination to remove policy ambiguities to provide better encouragement to exporters.

During a meeting with FIEO on 22nd September at Kolkata, Mr. Chacko explained how a small and resource deficient country like Singapore was acting as a major trading hub for South Asia mainly due to its proper export promotion policies. Discussing the possibility of organizing entrepreneurship development programmes jointly by the Federation and IIFT, Mr Chacko said that the Federation’s Conference Room in Kolkata was ideally suited for conducting such programmes and IIFT could provide the academic framework for the courses.
