Export Management & Development Programme at Farukhabad

Farukhabad has a large cluster of small and medium units manufacturing hand-printed textile and zardozi items. The items are exported in large quantity from this region, yet, the number of direct exporting units and export houses in this district town of UP is very small.

In order to educate the manufacturers of these items on how to export directly, FIEO Kanpur Chapter, in association with UP Export Promotion Bureau, organized a 2-day Export Management & Development Pro-gramme at Farukhabad on 25th & 26th February.

While inaugurating the programme, the Jt. Export Commissioner of UP, Mr. Prabhat Kumar highlighted the scope of exports of textile printed and zardozi items manufactured by a large number of units in Farukhabad. He said that the programme was long overdue, as most of the manufacturers of these items did not have the knowhow for direct export. He hoped that the program would enable many of the manufacturers to kick-start their export business independently.

During the programme, experts from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi provided the participants with the necessary tools for foraying into international business.

District Magistrate of Farukhabad  Mr. Shankar Lal Pandey joined the concluding session of the programme and gave away certificates to 70 participants who attended the programme. On this occasion, he announced that a land of 1000 acres would be made available for the development of Cluster Scheme of the central government for exporting units of Farukhabad.
