Mr. D. Muralidhar, Sr. Vice President, FKCCI, in his address advised the delegates to use all motivational tools available to manage their businesses effectively and referred a few books that could be helpful in this regard. He emphasized that the need of the hour was to inspire people to think and act beyond the obvious and make them competent to produce breakthroughs. "There is a need to stimulate the thinking process, change the mindsets and work with more effectiveness and focus for sustained growth of the business activities," he added.

Mr. Albert Over, Project Coordinator, ZDH/SEQUA Partnership Program, India, in his inaugural address underscored the role of such workshops for developing soft skills of the CEOs. The ZDH/SEQUA Partnership Program in India supports the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Its main objective is to assist business membership organizations (BMOs), industrial associations and chambers of commerce and industry in developing their organizational capacities as well as widening and improving their services towards member companies.

Mr. Sharad Bhise, Cluster Business Leader (Business Banking), Yes Bank Ltd., Bangalore, during his address briefed the delegates about several innovative financing products offered by his bank for the SMEs.

Technical presentation was made by Mr. Neeraj Kumar V, a Trained & Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from USA, a Lean Six Sigma Coach and a Certified master practitioner of NLP from the National Federation of Neuro-Linguistic Psychology, USA. He analysed leadership skills in terms of ability to successfully execute an idea or strategy, to discover the genesis behind any successful execution of an idea or thought, and to chalk out strategies for converting vision into action.

According to Mr. Neeraj Kumar, in this competitive era, one good idea can turn around the industry and a wrong decision can cost millions. "One bad boss can lose many great employees, because people don’t leave companies, they leave bad bosses. Research shows that in most of the cases, we lose only competent people. One happy customer can be an asset to the company and only a happy employee can produce many happy customers." He added.

A view of the participants.

The challenge today, says Mr. Kumar, is not HOW TO produce results, but WHY to produce them. People are not lazy; they just have impotent goals. If people find enough reasons to WHY they must achieve, they will find out ways and means of achieving things. "If you have a purpose, means will automatically follow," concluded Mr. Kumar.
