EMDP Programme at Bareilly

Bareilly region of Uttar Pradesh is firmly placed on international trade map for its most popular zardousi work, handicrafts, wooden furniture and bamboo work. FIEO’s Northern Region Chairman Dr R. K. Dhawan said this at a two-day Export Marketing Development Programme (EMDP) organized by FIEO in association with Export Promotion Bureau, UP on June 17 & 18 at Bareilly. The programme was in continuation to the series of EMDP programmes organized by FIEO at various export clusters in Northern India. labour cost India has a comparative advantage, he said. However, he urged the exporters to ensure quality and reliability saying the two were extremely important for this sector. Dr Dhawan also informed the participants about the importance of packaging, labeling and pricing for creating a niche in the global markets.
Apprising the participants of the role of FIEO, Dr. Dhawan invited them to register themselves with the Federation to help it promote exports from the region.

Commissioner of Bareilly Mr. Mazil Ali in his address assured to provide all assistance to the exporters of the town in making their products globally viable. Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Joint Commissioner, Export Promotion Bureau, UP Government, in his address suggested the participants to make best use of the training programme for learning global marketing techniques and tools. During the two days, experts from IIFT made presentations on issues like WTO, foreign trade policy, risk management, export documentation, global marketing framework, selection of markets etc. |
