Some of the Important Announcements made by the CBEC, Government of India during November, 2006 Department of Revenue Notification No.115/2005–Customs (NT) dated 22ndNovember, 2006 notifies the upward revision in Duty Drawback Rates and Value Cap for Readymade Garments and accessories under Chapter 61 and 62. Notification No.116/2005–Customs (NT) dated 22ndNovember, 2006 notifies the amendments in description of some of items under Chapter 54 and Chapter 55 (Woven Fabrics), and amendments in Rates and Value Cap in Chapter 81 (other base metals; cermets articles thereof) Circular No.28/2006-Cus dated 6thNovember, 2006 issues instructions for clearance of consignments of food articles including Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Vanaspati Ghee. Circular No.836/10/2006-CX dated 3rdNovember, 2006 prescribes the procedures for debiting the original scrips issued under Served from India Scheme (SFIS) for payment of Central Excise Duty in the case of domestic procurement of goods. Circular No.839/10/2006-CX dated 16th November, 2006 exempts from Central Excise Duty to parts falling under any Chapter, when used within the factory of production for manufacture of goods of heading 8701.
