Important announcment of the Government
1.Notification No. 53/2011-Customs dated 1st July, 2011 provide tariff concession to specified goods imported from Malaysia under Indo-Malaysia CECA.
2.Notification No. 54/2011-Customs dated 1st July, 2011 notify the exemption of duty on import of Naphtha imported by M/s. Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) for use in the manufacture of specified polymers.
3.Notification No. 55/2011-Customs dated 5th July, 2011 of terminal date of basic custom duty exemption on raw sugar and white or refined sugar.

9.Notification No. 62/2011-Customs dated 19th July, 2011 – Amends Notification No. 41/2007-Customs, dated the 19th March, 2007 regarding Saccharin.
10.Notification No. 63/2011-Customs dated 19th July 2011 - Amends Notification No. 21/2002-Customs dated the 1st March, 2002prescribing Standard Rate of Duty 10% in place of 2.5% for Alkyl esters oflong chain fatty acids obtained from vegetable oils commonly known as bio-diesels.

12.Notification No. 66/2011-Customs dated 26th July, 2011 notify the anti dumping duty on Poly Vinyl Chloride Paste Resin, Originating in or exported from People’s Republic of China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Taiwan and Thailand.
13.Notification No. 67/2011-Customs dated 28th July, 2011 notify the anti dumping duty on certain Rubber Chemicals originating in, or exported from certain countries.
14.Notification No. 68/2011-Customs dted 29th July, 2011 amends notification No. 46/2011-Customs dated 1st June, 2011 regarding the ConcessionalDuty on imports of specific goods from Cambodia under ASEAN.
15.Notification No. 69/2011-Customs dated 29th July, 2011 notify exemption to specific goods when imported into India from Japan with effect from 1st August, 2011.
16.Notification No. 43/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 1st July, 2011 notifies Customs Tariff (Determination of Origin of Goods Under the Preferential Trade Agreement Between the Governments of the Republic of India and Malaysia) Rules, 2011.
17.Notification No. 44/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 6th July, 2011assigns the function of proper officer to Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence(DRI), Preventive Commission rates, DGCEI and Central Excise Officers for the purposes of Section 17 and 28 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962).
18.Notification No. 45/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 7th July, 2011 – Amends Notification No. 62/1994-Customs (N.T.) dated the 21st November, 1994 regarding specified ports in different States.
19.Notification No. 47/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 15th July, 2011 – Amends Notification No. 36 2001-Customs (N.T.) dated 03rd August, 2001 prescribe tariff value for import of Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil & RBD Palmolein.
20.Notification No. 48/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 20th July, 2011 –The powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection Of Anti-dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995, and supersession of the Notification No. 74/2000-Customs (N.T.), dated 12th h December, 2000.
21.Notification No. 49/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 20th July, 2011 – The power confirmed by sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment And Collection Of Countervailing Duty On Subsidized And For Determination Of Injury Rules, 1995, and supersession of Notification No. 3/95-Customs (N.T.) dated 1st January, 1995.
22.Notification No. 50/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 22nd July, 2011 notify the anti dumping duty on import of Sewing Machine Needles in or expoted from Balat and Kalaichar Border Hatts of Bangladesh. .
23.Notification No. 51/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 27th July, 2011 notify the rate of exchange of conversion of each of the foreign currency equivalent to Indian rupees with effect from 1st August, 2011.
24.Notification No. 52/2011-Customs (N.T.) dated 28th July, 2011 amends the notification No. 189/2009-Customs (N.T.) dated 31.12.2009 vide which the Customs Tariff (Determination of Origin of Goods under the Preferential Trade Agreement between the Government of Member States of (ASEAN) AND The Republic of India) Rules, 2009 were notified.

27.Circular No. 26/2011-Cus. Dated 1st July, 2011 extends DEPB Scheme for three months beyond 30.06.2011 i.e. up to 30.09.2011.
28.Circular No. 27/2011-Cus. Dated 04th July, 2011 clarify regarding the import of hazardous waste under Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling and Transboundary) Rules, 2008.

30.Circular No. 29/2011-Cus. Dated 18th July, 2011 provides clarification of Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations, 2009.
31.Circular No. 30/2011-Cus.Dated 19th July, 2011 extendstime up to 15th September, 2011 for using re-credited 4% CVD (SAD) amount in DEPB under refund of 4% CVD.
32.Circular No. 31/2011-Cus. Dated 26th July, 2011 clarifythat the goods declared as “Crude Palm Stearin” shall be assessed under CTH 3812 11 11 of Custom Tariff Act, 1975.
33.Circular No. 32/2011-Customs dated 26th July, 2011 clarify leviability of Cess under the Produce CessAct of 1966 is no longer required to be paid on exports of Lace/shellac.
34.As per Circular No. 33/2011-Customs dated 29th July, 2011E-payment of Custom duty is mandatory.
