India is Mauritius's largest trading partner and has been the largest exporter of goods and services to Mauritius. India’s exports to Mauritius is significantly increased from 863,363 billion USD $ (2017) to 973,202 billion USD $ (2018) as it holds around 19% of total exports from India. India's exports to Mauritius comprise largely of petroleum products. Besides petroleum products, main items of India's exports to Mauritius are pharmaceuticals, cereals, cotton, electrical machinery and apparel and clothing accessories.
POST SHOW REPORT:
The first edition of this mega “India-Mauritius Trade Fair” was organized in 2018 and was supported by various Ministries of both the Governments in Mauritius and India. The event was also supported by Chambers of Commerce, industry associations, professional organizations, world market leaders, media, etc. This edition of “India- Mauritius Trade Fair” was inaugurated by the President of Mauritius Shri Barlen Vyapoory. Among the exporters who participated last year were those dealing in consultancy, info-tech and automation; ingredients and herbs; milk and dairy products; basmati, food and beverages; pharma, chemicals and supplements; hospitals, Medicare and education; agro, Ayurveda, organic and natural products; beauty and health; kitchenware and cookware; security & safety; tourism and wellness, etc. The response to Indian products is huge, especially from around 68 per cent of Mauritian citizens who are Indian origin. Further, the government to government relations are warm with India being the largest exporter to Mauritius and enjoy best trade terms.
