FIEO/MRD/VTF/2020-21

July 2, 2020

Dear· Sir (s),

As we all know that the ongoing pandemic has resulted in restriction of overseas travel leading to cancellation of most of the reputed international shows all across the globe. During such challenging times and restrictions, as the world moves to a New Normal scenario, the need of an hour is to move ahead and shift our focus from participating in physical exhibitions to virtual shows to connect with overseas buyers and build long term business engagements.

FIEO has always ensured to shoulder industry challenges and worked towards industry growth in difficult times. Continuing our efforts in this direction, we are pleased to inform you that FIEO is planning to participate in the following Indo- Africa E- Exhibitions (Virtual Sourcing Expo’s) to cater to growing demand of the Indian products in the entire Africa region:

1. IndoAfrica Food E-Exhibition

2. Indo-Africa Pharma & Medical E-Exhibition

3. Indo-Africa Build & Construct E-Exhibition

Dates: September 1-3, 2020

India – Africa Trade relation

The Africa region is an important trading territory for the Indian business community and the demand of Indian goods are increasing. India’s exports to the region reached USD 29.5 Bn in 2019 showing a growth of 9.25 %. Top Export destinations in region are South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Kenya & Tanzania.

Trade in agriculture and its allied sector products between India and Africa has been growing steadily over the years. The India-Africa agricultural trade was registered at US$ 6.6 billion in 2019. In terms of Indian exports of agricultural products to Africa, there is immense trade potential between Africa and India in certain products like cereals; sugar and sugar confectioneries; prepared animal fodder; coffee, tea and spices; and miscellaneous seeds, grains and fruits. India also exports food processing and Agriculture machinery like tractors, Seed mowing machines etc.

Recent developments in the African economy has given birth to a boom in the construction sector, including the housing and public housing sector generating and injecting billions of dollars annually into the African economy. The real estate market investment perspective and attraction comes from Arica location and robust political stability. An increasing number of the African populace are investing in properties and the government in African countries is empowering the private sector in the real estate direction.

The southern and western regions of Africa are the largest importers of Indian pharmaceuticals These two regions also have the largest number of people living with HIV/AIDS worldwide. India’s expertise in producing generic drugs that sell at one-fourth of their previous prices has been a big and beneficial component of the trade partnership with Africa.
